Sony is one of those companies that tend to produce interesting memory products, and its most recent attempt is a rugged SD card, the SF-G series TOUGH Specification UHS-II SD card is said to be the world’s toughest and 18 times stronger than the rest, it can resist bents up to 180N and drops up to 5 meters, it is also IPX8 waterproof and IPX6 dustproof.

The SF-G series TOUGH specification range of SD cards are created with the world’s first monolithic structure (one-piece molding, no empty space in the card) and high-grade hardness, which is unlike conventional SD cards with a thin, 3-part ensemble. Sony is also promising great read and write speeds of up to 300MB/s and 299MB/s respectively, and it supports the V90 video speed class, so that you can record 4K videos without any issues in the toughest environments.

In addition, Sony is offering two software features with its rugged SD card, which includes an ‘SD Scan Utility’ to check if the card is in good condition and a File Rescue Software to recover accidentally deleted data. The SF-G TOUGH series of memory cards will be available in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB storage capacities, sales will begin from October onwards.
