Last Sunday, Sony took the opportunity to launch three new cameras at the Digital Imaging Experience event . The camera includes the Alpha a6500, the Alpha a99m2 and the RX100M5.

We start off with the Alpha series of cameras, more specifically, the Alpha a6500. As the model number indicates, the a6500 is the successor to the a6300. The a6500 sports a 24.2MP APS-C sensor and comes with what Sony describe’s as the fastest auto-focusing speed in the world. Those who wish to record videos with the a6500 would be pleased to know that the camera comes with a 5-axis in-body stabilization system, as well as the ability to record 4K videos at 100Mbps. The camera comes with a touchscreen that allows users to pull-focus by tapping on subjects shown on the screen.

Next up, we have the a99m2. Succeeding the original a99, the a99m2 comes with a 42.4MP 35mm full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor with a Hybrid Phase Detection AF system. Much like the a6500, the a99m2 also comes with 5-axis image stabilisation and the ability to record videos in 4K resolution at 100Mbps.

Rounding up the list, Sony has the RX100M5. Being part of the Cyber-Shot series of cameras, the RX100M5 comess with the new 20.1MP 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor that has a 315 phase-detection autofocus points that gives the camera an auto-focus speed of 0.05 seconds. The RX100M5 utilises full pixel readout without pixel binning when shooting 4K videos, ensuring that the finer details of the video is captured with minimal moire and jagged edges.

All three cameras are now available with the a6500 and a99m2 retailing for RM6,499 and RM12,299 (body only) respectively. Meanwhile, the RX100M5 will retail for RM4,599.
