The OnePlus 5 is by all means the best OnePlus device so far, and also the most expensive one yet. But the company’s latest flagship came under fire for overselling the dual rear camera setup. The lack of OIS meant a big turn off to some, with sub par performance under low light. As for video, the EIS only kicks in for 1080p recording, and disappears when recording in 4K, due to a rush in software development in time for the launch of the phone. OnePlus has rolled out a new software update which brings stabilization to 4K videos.
The update size for Oxygen OS 4.5.7 is 310 MB, decent for the updates and fixes that it packs. The most notable ones are stabilization for 4K video recording (EIS support) and a new OnePlus Slate system font. The other are the usual such as the 1st July 2017 security patch update, standby battery enhancements, along with some bug fixes like occasional sound leaks through speakers when using earphones and fixing missing sound channels during video recording.
The latest software update for the OnePlus 5 hasn’t begun rolling out in Malaysia at the time of writing, but you can “force” your OnePlus 5 to get the update via VPN apps such as Opera VPN, that will likely trigger the roll out.
