ZUK has recently became the sub-brand of Lenovo, since Lenovo’s own VIBE handsets aren’t as happening as they are at China compared to elsewhere, coupled with the fact that Motorola’s smartphones just can’t seem to penetrate the East Asian market in general. Together with Lenovo, ZUK has unveiled the Lenovo ZUK Z2 in China, and it carries a pretty low price point for what it offers. Introducing, the tamer brother of the recently launched 6GB RAM ZUK Z2 Pro.

First off, the display of the Lenovo ZUK Z2 is a 5-inch IPS LCD panel in 1080p resolution, and despite claims by ZUK’s CEO himself that the ZUK Z2 packs an Exynos 8890 processor, the handset sports the flagship Snapdragon 820 SoC, matching their recent teaser of the device. Coupled with that is 4GB of RAM, alongside a non expandable 64GB of internal storage. In the camera department, we’re looking at a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP front facing shooter.

The battery capacity of the ZUK Z2 is surprisingly upgraded to 3,500mAh from the 3,100mAh battery of the Pro variant. A fingerprint sensor is also existent, planted beneath the physical home button on the handset’s front panel. USB Type-C is seen making its way to this flagship spec-ed device for future proofing purposes. The Lenovo ZUK Z2 will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box

All these specs will only set you back 1,800 CNY (RM1,124.64), which is definitely a steal considering the fact that it packs the same processor as other flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the LG G5. What do you think?
