This smartphone is a mosquito repellent

No matter how good of a smartphone you own, it won’t be as pleasant if you happen to be a mosquito magnet. But that will change as LG has just unveiled a smartphone that works as a mosquito repellent as well. The latest LG K7i might just be your life saver.

What makes the LG K7i stand out from the rest is that it emits ultrasound waves from the bottom, which is said to keep mosquitoes away. This is known as the Mosquito Away feature, which has previously been implemented on LG’s other appliances such as its air conditioners.

Looking at the LG K7i’s spec sheet though, it’s when things begin to make a turn. The handset sports a 5-inch display at 720p resolution. Underneath the hood lies an unknown quad core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, expandable via the micro SD slot.

The cameras don’t sound too impressive, with the LG K7i featuring an 8MP rear camera, plus a 5MP selfie shooter. The phone packs a 2,500mAh and unfortunately, it runs on an aged Android Marshmallow software.

The LG K7i carries an affordable price tag of 7,999 INR. While the Mosquito Away feature might be worth a shot in a tropical country like Malaysia, the rest of the specs are a let down. What do you think?
