Xiaomi has made its name for being one of the most affordable smartphone makers today. The company launched the Mi 5X earlier today, which sports the dual camera setup of the Mi 6 in mid range form. The company has announced the availability of another handset on top of that, which appears to be the limited edition Silver colored Mi, and by limited edition, Xiaomi means business.
Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO has broke news at the launch event that the Silver color variant of the Mi 6 will be made available for sale. Just to quickly recap, the Mi 6 sports a 5.15-inch screen in 1080p resolution, a Snapdragon 835 processor underneath the hood, with 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The phone also features a dual camera setup of 12MP sensors plus an 8MP selfie camera on the front.
The Silver variant of the Mi 6 will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and only 100 of them will be available for sale when it releases. Lei Jun has announced that the Silver Mi 6 will go on sale this coming August 3rd, but it will come with a higher price tag than the regular Mi 6 models, at CNY 3,999 (RM 2536.52).
The Silver Edition Xiaomi Mi 6 will of course be sold exclusively in China. We can’t be certain as to whether or not the company will expand the sale worldwide. What do you think?
