OnePlus is not only known for its controversial flagship killers and invite systems. When the company launched its first ever smartphone the OnePlus One, it came in rather unique color options and textures. First off is the Baby Skin White, which features a soft touch material in white, and Sandstone Black, which has stone but almost sandpaper texture to it. OnePlus carried on the Sandstone legacy to the OnePlus 2, but decided to go with aluminium from the OnePlus 3 onwards. It looks like Sandstone Black will be making a comeback.
OnePlus did not entirely kill off its signature Sandstone Black, retaining that through its own OnePlus cases. The Chinese manufacturer has teased on its Weibo page and Twitter account that something special will be unveiled on January 5. The post on Weibo is pretty much a give away as it also features a Chinese character which means “stone”, suggesting a Sandstone comeback.
It makes the most sense for OnePlus to launch a Sandstone Black variant of the OnePlus 5T, which also brings the question of whether that variant of the OnePlus 5T will have a plastic build instead of a metal build. Or maybe OnePlus is launching another product in Sandstone. Thoughts?
