Samsung’s Gear A round smartwatch is just around the corner

It’s been a while since Samsung releases their own smartwatch and GSM Arena reported Samsung will be releasing their first round smart watch with a codenamed – Orbis or Gear at. It will be unveiled together with the Galaxy Note 5 with an expected date of August 12, 2015. It’s been a while that the watch has been in the news quite a lot recently, with a few details about it have been revealed.

The Orbis will be powered by an Exynos 3472 chipset with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and a 450 MHz Mali-400 MP4 GPU. Besides that it will have 768 MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.1 and a 250 mAh battery. Then, you will get a GPS, accelerometer, gyro, barometer, heart rate monitor and a built-in Wi-Fi (802.11n).

Apparently, this smart watch also will be featuring a new and special version of Tizen that will have an interface designed specifically for a round screen with a resolution of 360×360 on a screen size of 1.65-inch. Surprisingly, the Orbis bezel ring will be used to control the UI and this element shows it might affect how big the screen itself can be in order for the watch reasonably fit as many people’s wrists as possible.

The price of the Samsung Gear A haven’t been unveiled, but the release date might fall on August 12, 2015.
