Samsung’s Galaxy A7 has three cameras and a feature from the Note 9

We are still looking forward to what Samsung has in store for us this October 11th, but before that excitement kicks in, the company has announced the all new Galaxy A7, which comes with three cameras at the back and a high resolution selfie camera.

It isn’t uncommon of Samsung introducing new features to its mid-range devices before the flagships get them. For instance, the Galaxy C9 Pro launched last year was the first Samsung device to come with 6GB of RAM and a 4000mAh battery.

For starters, the Galaxy A7 features a 6-inch Super AMOLED 18:9 display with a FHD+ resolution, it is powered by an unmentioned Exynos Octa-Core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and supported by 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

As for the three cameras at the back, it plays a totally different game from the Huawei P20’s tri-lens solution, there’s a 24MP standard angle and 8MP 120-degree wide angle sensor, supported by a third 5MP depth lens for Live Focus aka bokeh. The 24MP lens is claimed to offer superior low light performance by combining four pixels into one pixel, the Galaxy Note 9’s Scene Optimizer feature is also present.

Another first on the Galaxy A7 is a side positioned fingerprint scanner, which isn’t new on smartphones as Sony XPERIA smartphones have done that for some time. Other premium features include Dolby Atmos sound technology, Bixby, Samsung Pay and Samsung Health. In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy A7 has WiFi AC, Bluetooth 5.0, and surprisingly, a Micro USB port.

With devices like the vivo v11, OPPO F9 and Huawei Nova 3 in the market, the Galaxy A7 seems to be Samsung’s answer to compete with these devices, and more will be revealed on October 11th as the company is set to announce an all new smartphone. The Galaxy A7 is set for a Fall release.
