Samsung Malaysia has just announced that they are updating their smart assistant, Bixby, to support Mandarin Chinese. This will offer a different voice option to Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 users to converse with Bixby in Mandarin.
Prior to this, Bixby only supports US English and Korean but with the addition of Mandarin, this will allow Malaysians more flexibility, contextual awareness and cognitive tolerance to interact with their devices. Samsung has also mentioned that the reason for including this is due to the large Mandarin-speaking community in Malaysia. With this update, the new language will be integrated into Bixby Home, Reminder, and Vision as well as native apps like Bixby Lab and other third-party apps. They have mentioned that they will be constantly improving Bixby and adding new features based on the feedback from Samsung users.
Bixby on the S8, S8+ and Note 8 is just the first step un in the Bixby ecosystem, as it grows it will be able to connect to many other devices, apps and services to open up new experiences and ensure convenience.
