The spotlight might be on Samsung’s more high end smartphones, but the South Korean smartphone maker has been known to silently unveil its other mid range and entry level devices, mostly to Asian regions again. This time the company has launched an entry level handset in India, known as the Galaxy J7 Nxt.

There isn’t much to scream about when you look at the Galaxy J7 Nxt. For starters, Samsung went with a patterned plastic back design for the phone, along with a said “unified color scheme” of gold and black. The 5.5-inch screen features Samsung’s own Super AMOLED technology, but is at a sub par 720p resolution. Underneath the hood is an unknown octa core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz code named “Joshua”. The 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage is of a standard affair when it comes to entry level devices.

The rear camera, although at a typical 13 megapixels, comes with a more impressive aperture than usual at F/1.9, which helps under low lighting conditions. The front facing selfie camera is of 5 megapixels. The Galaxy J7 Nxt packs a 3,000mAh battery, which should be enough to fuel the 720p display and the rest of its processing power.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Nxt is currently available for sale exclusively in India for the time being for a price of Rs. 11,490 (RM763.13). Do you think there are better entry level handsets out there with better value?
