Samsung officially launches Galaxy A55 5G and A35 5G

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A55 5G and A35 5G mid-range phones, both phones feature minor upgrades from their respective predecessors, while sporting the same 6.6-inch Infinity-O FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 120Hz display, complemented by Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection and Vision Booster for an eye-candy visual experience.

The Galaxy A55 5G gets an SoC upgrade and is now powered by an Exynos 1480 chip while paired to 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage, a 5000mAh battery powers the device with support for 25W fast charging.

The Galaxy A55 5G’s triple camera setup remains similar as its predecessor with a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and 5MP macro camera, the front camera is a 32MP shooter, Samsung says that the phone features a new AI Image Signal Processor that captures stunning low light photos never seen before on a Galaxy A series, the new ISP also enables Night Portrait and 12-bit HDR video.

As for the Galaxy A35 5G, it is powered by last year’s Exynos 1380 chipset paired to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, it has the same main and macro cameras as the Galaxy A55 5G, the ultra-wide camera resolution is however down to 8MP, while the front camera takes lower resolution selfies at 13MP.

The Galaxy A55 5G and A35 5G will receive four generations of OS upgrades and five years of security updates, no local pricing and availability has been mentioned at this time of writing.
