Samsung Odyssey is the most powerful Windows Mixed Reality headset available

Looks like the rumours that Samsung is releasing a Windows MR headset is true as the Korean technology company has unveiled their entry into the Windows MR ecosystem with the Samsung Odyssey. They did not join the lightweight category of the headsets, as they have produced a headset that shadows the others when it comes to specs.

Being the best spec headset is one thing, but tech journalist from Wareable, Tech Crunch and The Verge has also mentioned that the headset can be put into the same category as the Oculus Rift. Wearable writer, Hugh Langley stated that “it’s easily the best Windows MR headset I’ve tried”. The headset comes with OLED displays at 1400×1600 resolution per eye, integrated headphones and even a mic all in one device.

Now that most of the Windows MR headsets have been unveiled, Microsoft has taken out a statement saying that the Mixed Reality experience will be broken down into two different categories to cater for the different levels of computers that will run the environment. There will be the Windows Mixed Reality and Windows Mixed Reality Ultra, with the latter, meant for high-performance systems, but regardless what headset you own, both the MR options will be available to you.
