Yesterday, we’ve reported that Samsung is investigating the cause of the exploding Galaxy Note 7. Today, it appears that Samsung’s investigation has found that the Note 7 explosion may not be a one-off incident as Yonhap News is reporting that Samsung is getting ready to issue a global recall of its latest smartphone soon.

According to the reports, Samsung looks to be ready to announce the result of its investigation into the cause of the explosion, as well as comprehensive countermeasures by this weekend or early next week. “The most important thing is the safety of our customers and we don’t want to disappoint our loyal customers,” says a Samsung official who wishes to remain anonymous. “Products installed with the problematic battery account for less than 0.1 percent of the entire volume sold. The problem can be simply resolved by changing the battery, but we’ll come up with convincing measures for our consumers,” the official further added.

The recall of the Note 7 is expected to be a global one. After all, the Note 7 has thus far been available for purchase in 10 countries worldwide. There’s no denying that the recent brouhaha has hamstrung Samsung’s latest flagship launch. Only time will tell if sales of the Note 7 will meet the Korean company’s expectations after this particularly messy launch.
