It appears that the Galaxy S8 may not be arriving in the consumers’ hands on the 21st of April after all as Samsung has decided to delay the release of the phone by a week.

According to leaker Evan Blass, Samsung has decided to push back the release of the S8 to the 28th of April instead. While no reason was given as to why Samsung has decided to push back the release of its latest flagship, some are speculating that Samsung is doing so in order to have more stock available when the phone eventually launches. There are also rumours that Samsung may put the S8 through an additional round of hardware testing to ensure that a Note 7-like hardware failure does not occur with the S8.

Seeing as Samsung itself has yet to officially announce a global release date for the phone, that date will probably be announced at the upcoming Unpacked event held at New York City later in March.
