Samsung Malaysia launches Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE Series and Galaxy Buds FE

Samsung Malaysia has officially introduced its latest FE (Fan Edition) lineup of devices, which includes the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Buds FE, the FE lineup of devices are essentially Samsung’s value-for-money and budget versions of their flagship counterparts.

Galaxy S23 FE

To no one’s surprise, the Galaxy S23 FE resembles the vanilla Galaxy S23 when it comes to design, Samsung mentions a premium finishing but not the build, which we can probably assume to be a really good polycarbonate build that we have see on the Galaxy S21 FE.

Sporting a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that pushes FHD+ resolution at 120Hz, the Galaxy S23 FE naturally won’t come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy since this is a more affordable device, Samsung does however mention a ‘powerful octa-core processor’ and a vapor chamber for cooling, the phone comes with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

We are also looking at an impressive triple camera setup that will trump similar priced devices, which includes a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide and 8MP 3x optical zoom cameras, while the front camera is the good old 10MP camera that despite the low resolution, it can take decent selfies.

Battery capacity is similar to the Galaxy S21 FE at 4500mAh with support for 25W fast charging and 15W wireless charging.

The Galaxy S23 FE is available in Mint, Cream, Graphite and Purple colors, it retails for RM2,999 for the 8GB+128GB model and RM3,299 for the 8GB+256GB model.

Galaxy Tab S9 FE Series

Instead of just one screen size, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series now comes in 10.9-inches and 12.4-inches, which can be identified as the Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ respectively. Compared to the Tab S7 FE, these new tablets will get 90Hz IPS displays and similar to their higher end counterparts, they are IP68 water and dust resistant.

The Tab S9 FE series will continue to support the S-Pen like their predecessors, Samsung has however been rather vague at the tablets’ performance details, though the series are powered by the same 2.4GHz+2GHz octa-core processor, the Tab S9 FE comes with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the Tab S9 FE+ comes with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, both tablets support storage expansion over a MicroSD card.

One downgrade to note from the Tab S7 FE though, is that the USB-C connectivity is now USB 2.0 instead of USB 3.2 Gen 1, hence you won’t be able to do wired Samsung DeX on an external display.

Available in WiFi only and 5G variants, the Tab S9 FE series come in refreshing colors of Mint, Lavender, Gray and Silver. Here are the pricing details in Malaysia:
