Looking to try out a smartphone for some time before making a purchase decision? It looks like Samsung has got you covered, at least in its home land South Korea. Samsung has introduced the Upgrade to Galaxy program, in which it loans out either the Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy Note 8 to selected applicants who opt in for the program.

The program by Samsung is probably one of the company’s attempts to draw more users to its side, reinforcing its place as the top smartphone manufacturer in the world. Interested fans can choose to apply from today till November 27th, and Samsung will then select a whopping 10,000 lucky applicants to loan its phones to for a month. Successful applicants will have to pay a small participation fee which is equivalent to RM 190. The participation fee will be refunded if the applicant decides to purchase the phone at the end of the program.

The move by Samsung is definitely an aggressive one, and conveniently launches in conjunction with the upcoming Apple iPhone X launch in South Korea which is just around the corner. Regardless, one month is a long enough period for one to get used to a device, and Samsung’s plan will most likely work for them. What do you think?
