The revamped Galaxy A series have received tremendous success in Malaysia this year, and Samsung is keeping the momentum up by launching the Galaxy A50s and A30s today, both phones receive a new holographic chassis design, upgraded cameras and Samsung Pay support, with the latter being a long anticipated feature that was missing in their predecessors.
The Galaxy A50s sports a 6.4-inch Infinity O Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, it has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that’s also expandable via MicroSD card, a 4000mAh battery continues to power your day with support for 15W quick charging over its USB-C port, you also get an on-screen fingerprint reader as well.
The primary lens of the A50s has been upgraded to a 48MP f/2.0 lens and is joined by an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 5MP depth sensor. Samsung is also bringing the Note 10’s Super Steady Video feature to the camera software, so that customers can shoot videos with less shakiness. As for selfie lovers, your selfies are going to look sharper with a 32MP lens.
While the A50s seem to be a modest update, the Galaxy A30s receives two major hardware inclusions – an on-screen fingerprint reader and a triple camera system. The primary lens obviously has a lower resolution at 25MP albeit with a rather impressive f/1.7 aperture, it is still joined by an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 5MP depth sensor.
The A30s has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, though its 6.4-inch Infinity V Super AMOLED display has a lower HD+ resolution, it still looks very pleasing to the eye if you are not comparing it to the A50s, on a brighter side power consumption should be better with a 4000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging.
Samsung has also took the opportunity to introduce the Galaxy A20s at the event today, which also receives a larger 6.5-inch display and upgraded cameras. The Galaxy A50s and A30s will be available in Samsung stores and dealers nationwide starting this weekend, the Galaxy A50s will retail at RM1,299 and customers will receive complimentary Samsung Protection Plus upon purchase, the Galaxy A30s will retail at RM899 and customers will receive a 1-year screen crack protection and a Starbucks to-go set, while the Galaxy A20s is set to retail at RM699 and customers will receive a 1-year screen crack protection.
