Samsung gave away 200 units of Galaxy Note 8 on a flight!

It’s funny and ironic how the Galaxy Note 7 sounded like a deadly bomb on flights last year. The failed phablet from last year by Samsung experienced battery issues which led to a global recall before its eventual discontinuation. The phone was banned across flights worldwide as well. With the launch of the Galaxy Note 8 two months ago, Samsung aims to make things right with its customers.

Just earlier this week, Samsung surprised passengers on a Spanish flight by handing out 200 units of the Galaxy Note 8 for free. While this is obviously a publicity stunt, it is definitely generous of a company to give out 200 of its most expensive flagship smartphone to the public.

Celestino García, Spain’s Corporate Vice President for Samsung was also present at the flight to greet the fortunate passengers onboard. All given out devices came with a message that states, “A year ago we asked you to turn it off. Today, we welcome you on board.”

Props to Samsung for its attempt to fix the damage done by its previous Galaxy Note 7 phablet. Looks like it’s all going well for the company with the current Note 8. What do you think?
