The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 will be launched this September 1 during the second part of the Unpacked event – yes, there are two parts now.
We didn’t hear a lot about Samsung’s latest foldable during the first Unpacked earlier this month, so it seems that this time, the event will be wholly focused on the Galaxy Z Fold2 only.
As we know already, the phone comes with a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display, and a 7.6-inch panel when unfolded. Both displays support HDR10+. The phone uses the same ultra-thin glass that we saw on the Galaxy Z Flip – which is covered by a layer of polymer that scratches very easily.
Under the hood, you have a Snapdragon 865+ chipset along with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone is powered with a 4,500mAh battery that supports up to 25W of fast charging and 11W of wireless charging.
For imaging, you can expect two 10MP punch hole cameras – both on the front and inner display panel; plus a pair of 12MP lenses that are part of a trio of main lenses. It is unsure what the Samsung will use for the remaining lens.
We’ll know more about the phone and it’s price when it launches during the Galaxy Unpacked part 2 event. You can catch the livestream of the event here.
