The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 was the last flagship tablet from the Korean giants – it was launched last year to rave reviews. Almost a year later, we now get the lower-end version of the device for those who want something as good for less.

Aptly dubbed the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, you get a smaller tablet measuring at 10.4-inches and it comes packed with a LCD display pushing a resolution of 2000×1200. Definitely a downgrade from its elder sibling’s Super AMOLED 2560×1600 panel.

Despite that, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes with the same design language as the original with thick bezels around the sides with rounded corners. Over on the back we see antenna bands on the top and bottom of the tab.

A single main camera is present and offers a resolution of 8MP – another major downgrade from the original’s dual 13MP+5MP camera array. On top front, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite gets a 5MP shooter.

Under the hood, an Exynos 9611 chipset powers the device and you get 4GB of RAM alongside up to 128GB internal storage. There’s also a microSD card slot present so you can bump your storage up with up to a 1TB card if you want.

The tab’s biggest selling point is its S-Pen support which you keep snugly in a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Book Cover, which is sold separately. The S-Pen also magnetically clings onto the cover so you don’t lose it. It doesn’t look like you can attach the pen to the back of the tablet like on the original Tab S6.

There also doesn’t look to be any provisions for a keyboard attachment, which is something the original had.

The tablet comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and charger via a USB-C port. Speaking of, the tablet packs a 7,040mAh battery, which is the same as the original Tab S6. Despite being a budget option, you still get a flagship-like array of speakers which are AKG-tuned and have Dolby Atmos support. The tablet also ships with Android 10 with One UI 2 layered on top.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is available in Oxford Gray, Chiffon Pink, and Angora Blue – there are no official pricing yet, and Samsung Malaysia hasn’t announced its local availability. The device made its appearance via our neighbouring Indonesia’s Samsung page, so considering our proximity, we could be next in line to receive the tablet.
