Yet another update from Samsung and this has to do with a new update that gives users an extra option for slow-mo videos. Prior to this, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ came with the option of 960fps at 720p which was as good as the slow-mo on the Xperia XZ2.

The new update will give the options users the option shoot a slow-mo shot in 480fps, faster by half the default speed that the phones offered. This will allow the exposure to be shorter which will result in clearer slow-mo and with the possibility of a brighter shot. However, there is a rather odd way of activating this feature, to shoot in 480fps, you will need to enable manual Super Slow Motion mode. If you want the 960fps mode, you will need to enable the automatic mode. Samsung did not state why would users need to do this but using automatic or manual mode will still achieve the expected result of shooting slow-mo. Other than that, the update brings along device stability improvements as well as improved AR Emoji.

If you own the Galaxy S9 or S9+, you can head over to the Software Update section of the phone and do a check if you have received the update. Currently, it is being rolled out to Exynos Galaxy S9 and S9+ devices, which is the processor variant that we get in Malaysia.
