Samsung’s latest Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ flagship smartphones are truly impressive upgrades over last year’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in most areas. However, when it comes to charging speeds, the two smartphones are identical to their predecessors, supporting up to 15W wired charging.

According to leakster Ice Universe, Samsung may roll out a software update for the Galaxy S10 in the near future to add support for 25W Super Fast Charging. The information was reportedly revealed by the President of Samsung Greater China. Currently, the only Samsung smartphones to have 25W Super Fast Charging support are the Galaxy S10 5G and the recently launched Galaxy A70.

The Galaxy S10 is apparently capable of supporting up to 25W charging speed but Samsung has limited it to 15W in the firmware. Which is why it is possible for the company to introduce 25W fast charging with a new software update. In addition to faster wired charging, Samsung is said to be contemplating on bringing “super night mode” feature as well to the Galaxy S10. The “super night mode” will work similarly to Google’s Night Sight feature, allowing users to capture impressive low-light shots.

While there is no doubt that the Galaxy S10 is incredibly capable when it comes to low-light photography, it falls a little short of rivals from Huawei and Google. Unfortunately, no specific timeframe for the update has been confirmed yet.
