The successor to the Samsung Galaxy Fold is one of the foldable devices we’re expecting this year and based on the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants Ross Young, the Galaxy Fold 2 will either be priced the same or cheaper than its predecessor.
Young tweeted that the Galaxy Fold 2 will be priced between $1,780 and $1,980, but it will have better specs. Since the technology and production methods are more developed at this point, the price point of foldable devices is also expected to be slightly lower.
More Galaxy Fold 2 Leaks:
Price – Between $1780 and $1980. Since they are looking to boost volumes, we think it will be priced around $100 less than last year at $1880-$1895 despite a bigger/better front and main display, a higher resolution camera, the S-Pen and 5G.— Ross Young (@DSCCRoss) April 27, 2020
Unlike the Galaxy Fold, the new Samsung foldable will be featuring a better and bigger display — perhaps one that can avoid the obvious crease mark. It’ll also have a triple camera setup that consists of a 64MP camera paired with two 12MP lenses. With Samsung offering 5G connectivity to its Galaxy S series, there’s also a high chance for the company to bring 5G support to the Galaxy Fold 2.
There isn’t an exact date of release, but Young previously predicted an August launch which should also be around the launch period of the Galaxy Note 20 series.
