During the Galaxy Awesome Unpacked Event, Samsung launched three new models in the A series — the Galaxy A72, Galaxy A52 and A52 5G.
Galaxy A72 and A52 get a 90Hz refresh rate; 5G model supports a 120Hz display
The Galaxy A52 — both 5G and non-5G — and the Galaxy A72 have lots of similarities; they have the same design and matte haze finish, but the Galaxy A72 is slightly larger at 6.7-inches. While the Galaxy A72 and A52 support 90Hz refresh rate on their Super AMOLED panels, the A52 5G has an even higher refresh rate at 120Hz. All three phones come with an IP67 rating and have stereo speakers paired with Dolby Atmos.
One uses a depth camera, the other uses a telephoto lens
They also have a 32MP front camera and a 64MP quad camera setup. The only difference is while both have a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP macro lens, the Galaxy A52 has a 5MP depth sensor whereas the A72 has an 8MP telephoto sensor.
Both the A52 and A72 has 8GB of RAM paired with 256GB of storage, but you can expand it up to 1TB via a MicroSD card. The Galaxy A52 has a 4,500mAh battery whereas its larger sibling has a 5,000mAh battery, but both support the same 25W charging.
Price and availability
These Samsung phones all come in four colours — Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Blue and Awesome Violet. The Galaxy A52 is priced at €349 while its 5G model costs €429. On the other hand, the Galaxy A72 will set you back €449.
