The Galaxy A series (2016) impressed us with decent specs and close to Galaxy S series’ standard of quality, making the A series probably the next in line after the flagship series. While the Galaxy A’s were announced back in December last year, we already have leaked specs of what might be a Galaxy A5 (2017).

According to Sam Mobile, the SM-A520F model, said to be of the 2017 Galaxy A5, has been spotted being shipped to India for testing purposes. Sam Mobile has also posted up a benchmark result of the alleged handset, and that’s where the specs come into play. The results suggest that the Galaxy A5 will feature an Exynos 7880 chip alongside 3GB of RAM. Though these specs don’t tell much, but they’re definitely something to begin with.

The current A5 features a Full HD 5.2-inch display, which we expect to be retained in the 2017 refresh. We should also expect a slight improvement over the decently impressive 13MP/5MP pair on the current generation. USB Type-C is a possibility, and considering the fact that only the Galaxy A7 supported charging out of the three devices (A3, A5, A7) that were launched, we might be looking at the technology making its way to the A5 in next year’s refresh. However, do bear in mind that these are purely speculations and that we shouldn’t place too much trust on early leaks. Till then, stay tuned!
