Earlier this month, the first press render of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A2 Core Android Go smartphone was posted online by leakster Evan Blass on Twitter. Thanks to a new leak, the complete hardware specs of the upcoming Android Go smartphone have now been laid bare.
The entry-level Android Go smartphone will sport a 5.0-inch PLS TFT LCD display panel with 540 x 960 qHD resolution. While the leaked spec sheet does not specify the chipset powering the device, previous leaks have revealed the Galaxy A2 Core will feature Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset. In the memory department, the smartphone will include only 1GB of RAM, just like other Android Go smartphones.
For optics, the Galaxy A2 Core will come equipped with a 5MP resolution primary camera at the rear, clubbed with an f.1.9 aperture lens. The resolution of the front-facing camera is not listed. Fueling the internals of the handset will be a 2600mAh capacity non-removable battery. In terms of physical size, the smartphone reportedly measures 141.6 x 71 x 9.1mm and weighs in at 142 grams.
On the software front, the latest leak confirms the Galaxy A2 Core will ship with the older Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) software instead of the newer Android 9.0 Pie (Go Edition). The smartphone is expected to go official sometime next month.
