Graphene is being studied as a structure that can make phone screens better to making prosthetic limbs stronger. Now, Samsung is developing a battery that uses graphene to improve the charging speed and its charge capacity. This might sound not a big deal, but if they can actually pull this off, it can charge up to five times faster than a normal battery and have a capacity increase of up to 45%.

This could lead to the possibility that users will be able to charge their phones in minutes and have it last more than a day. Smartphones would not be the only devices to benefit from this new technology, as the research indicates that this could also be implemented into electric cars, allowing them to charge as fast as pumping petrol and travel even further.

Currently, the tech is still in the experimental stage so we probably won’t see it in the latest Galaxy S9 phones, but it is promising as a big company is doing the research and development. Therefore, there is a high change this product might actually see the light of day.
