I think it’s safe to say that we already know how this year’s iPhone will turn out, but reports are suggesting that Apple wants to cancel one of the iPhones in 2020.
The iPhone XS and XS Max now measures at 5.8 inches and 6.5 inches, and the iPhone XR slots between them at 6.1 inches. The famous Apple analyst Kuo Ming-Chi recently reported that Apple plans to cancel the 5.8-inch iPhone model in 2020 and replace it with an iPhone SE successor instead.
However, this successor will come with flagship specs; the only difference is it’ll end up as a 5.4-inch iPhone. While other brands are aiming for bigger displays, Apple decides to do the opposite and create a one-handed device that comes with flagship specs.
Of course, it’ll still have a bigger display compared to the iPhone SE especially since the bezels will be much thinner compared to Apple’s old iPhone designs. This decision is probably due to the current iPhone XS making the least sales compared to the iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. Meanwhile, the 2020 successor to the iPhone XS Max will measure up to 6.7 inches.
