Xiaomi makes smartphones for people with different set of needs. While the Chinese manufacturer churns out flagship and highly spec-ed devices, it certainly doesn’t stray away from entry level handsets, such as the Redmi Note 5A that has been rumored a little especially on Xiaomi’s home soil China. Courtesy of the company’s co-founder Lin Bin, The Redmi Note 5A finally has an official launch date set for August 21.
Right now we’re only 3 days away from the Redmi Note 5A’s Monday launch. Rumors so far point to the upcoming entry level phablet featuring a standard 5.5-inch display at a modest HD resolution. Underneath the hood, the Redmi Note 5A is suggested to be available in two variants. The base model will be powered by a Snapdragon 425 SoC with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage while there might be a slightly higher end model with a Snapdragon 430 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
Cameras are likely to slightly differ between these models as well. The lower end variant is slated to sport a standard 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The premium model will feature a 16MP rear shooter and a 13MP selfie camera instead.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A will officially be unveiled on the 21st later this month, most likely via a live stream online.
