Although the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro just made its debut in Malaysia, Redmi General Lu Weibing has already revealed that its successor, the Redmi K30 is under development.
For those who are slightly confused, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro is actually the Redmi K20 Pro; the former is its global variant while the latter is the China variant. The Redmi K20 series is first launched in May this year, which is why it’s not much of a surprise that the company is already in progress of developing its next successor.
However, Lu Weibing’s post also revealed that the Redmi K30 will come with 5G support, so we can presume that the Redmi K30 Pro will also have the same feature. Reports also suggest that these devices will arrive earlier than May 2020, so we won’t have to wait another year to witness the successor of the Redmi K20 series.
Perhaps the Redmi K30 series will be named the Xiaomi Mi 10T series when it debuts globally, but we can only wait for now. In the meantime, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro that just launched in Malaysia can be purchased at RM1,599 onwards from August 30.
