It looks like Xiaomi is getting ready to launch its upcoming Redmi 5 and Redmi Note 5 series as an image of the Redmi 5 Plus box has surfaced on Weibo. The image does not show the actual device but it does give us an indicator that the company is ready to launch the phones soon.

No specifications could be seen on the box but recent leaks tell us that the phone will be equipped with the MediaTek Helio P25 processor and will come in two variants, 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage and 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It will likely house a 4000mAh battery which should be more than sufficient battery life. There will be a fingerprint scanner on the back alongside a 12MP camera. There are rumours that indicate that there might be a Snapdragon version of the phone, but we are not sure if that will be a region-specific like what Samsung has done with the S8.

The Redmi Note 5 is said to come with a price tag of 999 Yuan (RM634.48) and the higher-end model will be at 1,299 Yuan (RM825.01). The Redmi 5 Plus on the other hand could cost around 899 Yuan (RM570.97) and the regular version may be priced at 799 Yuan (RM507.45).
