The much-anticipated realme Smart TV has finally been launched in Malaysia and it’ll be available in two sizes – 32-inches and 43-inches.
The former is priced at RM899, while the latter will cost RM1,499. The smaller model pushes a resolution of 1366x768p, while the 43-inch model pushes a FHD resolution of 1920x1080p. Unfortunately, realme isn’t brining their 4K SLED model to Malaysia just yet.
Both panels use LED edge-lit backlighting with Chroma Boost that uses software to improve colour output and contrast. The TV has a peak brightness of 400 nits so we can’t expect great HDR experience here even if it does support HDR 10 decoding and playing.
When it comes to connectivity, it has 3 HDMI ports, one of which supports ARC for your soundbars; there are 2 USB ports, 1x AV port, 1x Ethernet jack, 1x Digital Audio Out, and 1x antenna port.
The TV has a decently-wide viewing angle of 178-dgrees so a room with a few people can still enjoy a decent viewing experience. The TV also comes with Game mode which reduces the input latency.
When it comes to audio, the TVs have an impressive 24W quad speaker setup with Dolby Audio MS12B support. The brains of the operation is a MediaTek quad-core chip; plus, you also get 1GB of memory and 8GB of storage for apps and updates.
Speaking of, the TVs run on Android which will give you the full suite of Google Play Store apps including Netflix and YouTube. As typical of Android TVs, there’s Google Assistant and built-in Chromecast , which is useful for any Android user out there.
There’s no word on when both TVs will go on sale yet, but we’ll let you know when we get more information. This may not be the ideal TV if you’re looking to use it with the upcoming PS5; so if you want a larger 4K TV, read here.
