Realme looks to step away from OPPO’s shadow – shedding its sub-brand image, and coming into its own. Their CEO Madhav Sheth had confirmed that the company is working on its own OS to replace OPPO’s ColorOS.

It is likely to be based on Android Q and will come packed with features that “fans have been asking for”. GSM Arena notes that a stock Android-like experience is not likely as Sheth had mentioned of offering more.

Sheth also hinted that the OS would be ready sometime this October, but it is unsure if current Realme phones will receive a patch to update the phone with the new OS. It also seems like we’ll be hearing more of the OS next week.
