Razer is adopting an e-wallet/e-rewards system of its own as the company announces the launch of the zVault system earlier today.

This system, which has been in its testing stages since January, is split into two seperate components: zGold and zSilver. zGold functions like a traditional digital currency that can be used to purchase Razer peripherals, games, and in-game items. Right now, Razer is allowing users to purchase zGold in USD30, USD50, and USD100 increments.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have zSilver. This particular currency works much like loyalty points whereby every purchase using zGold would net you a certain amount of zSilver. On top of that, zSilver can also be earned by logging in daily to Razer’s Arena service. Additional methods of earning zSilver will also be introduced over time. Once a user has enough zSilver in his account, said user can then choose to redeem it for special products through Razer’s store.

“This introduction of zVault is all about giving value to gamers with secure payment convenience and a great rewards program,” says Min-Liang Tan, CEO of Razer. “Our ultimate vision is a complete gamer economy expanding from the zVault ecosystem. It’s social, interactive and truly useful, opening the doors to a safer way of doing business and an expansive rewards market for our fans.”
