It would seem like cryptocurrency is making it big in Malaysia, just recently most of you have probably read the news of a Nasi Lemak seller accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment. Now, there is a Proton car showroom in Seri Kembangan that is accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum as a form of payment for the cars.
In the picture posted by a Lowyat Forum user, Xccess, you can easily see a banner stating that the showroom will accept both cryptocurrencies as a form of payment. They are only asking for Bitcoin and Ethereum probably due to the fact that both these currency are sitting on the top of the carts for the highest real-world value. At the timing of writing this, the current value of Bitcoin is $15,740 and Ethereum stands at $1,014.68.
It is still unsure if this might be available in all Proton showrooms or if Proton has even approved this method of payment for its showrooms. It is interesting to see more people and businesses take an interest in cryptocurrency but perhaps it’s a little too early to start actually conducting business using these kinds of currency. What are your thoughts about this?
