Siam Darby Auto performance has just launched the third-generation of the Porsche Cayenne which combines the performance you would expect from a Porsche with everyday practicality. It comes with a new powerful turbo engine, eight-speed Tiptronic S gearbox, new chassis systems and excellent connectivity.
Two variants of the Cayenne was launched, the Cayenne and Cayenne S, with the first having a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged engine which delivers 250kW and 450 Nm of torque. This gives the Cayenne an acceleration time of 0 to 100km/h in 6.2 seconds and a maximum speed of 245km/h. The Cayenne S is powered by a 2.9-litre V6 twin-turbocharged engine delivering 324kW and 550Nm of torque. This variant has an acceleration speed of 0 to 100km/h in just 5.2 seconds with a maximum speed of 265km/h.
The Cayenne’s design has been enhanced with a style that is in line with the Porsche Design DNA, with horizontal light edges which gives the SUV its wider and more athletic appearance. Exterior length has been increased by 63 millimetres without changing the wheelbase and roof height by nine millimetres compared to the previous model. Luggage compartment volume is more 770 litres, an increase of 100 litres and the wheels are one inch larger, enhancing the driving dynamics.
Porsche is also offering new three-stage lighting concept for the headlights, every Cayenne comes with LED lights as a standard but can be upgraded to the Porsche Dynamic Light System which can be selected as an option. WIth a fully variable light distribution and matrix beam including PDLS Plus, it is the best option as it activates the high-beam without glaring other drivers on the road which is also thanks to its adaptive sign glare control.
The performance offered by the Cayenne is thanks to the new eight-speed Tiptronic S gearbox, which offers shorter response times and sportier great ratios at lower gears, while the long-transmission eighth gear ensures low torque for optimised fuel consumption and relaxed driving. If you are taking it off-road, there are four modes that can be activated for mild off-road terrains like Mud, Gravel, Sand or Rocks.
The main attraction of the cockpit is the new 12.3-inch FHD touchscreen that comes from the latest generation of Porsche Communication Management which was launched in 2017 with the new Panamera. There are still analogue controls on the centre console which are focused on the main functions of the vehicles. Other functions are integrated into the smartphone-like, glass-look touch surface which gives out an acoustic and haptic feedback when operated. keeping the well-known Porsche style, the tachometer is analogue and are flanked by two 7-inch FHD display which displays relevant driving data plus additional information which can be selected using the buttons on the steering wheel.
The new Cayenne and Cayenne S starts from RM745,000 and RM890,000 respectively, it also comes with a four-year warranty and free maintenance pages which includes complimentary service, parts and labour. Porsche 360 Financing is also made available on the new Cayenne, reducing monthly payments by up to 30% and provides flexible financing terms for better cash flow management.
