You might be surprised to know that Pokemon Go is going to be one year old, to celebrate this occasion, Niantic Labs has announced that they are planning a number of in-game and in-person events.
The first event will be called the Solstice Event and will happen on June 13, it will include Fire-type and Ice-type Pokemon, XP bonuses, and discounts on Lucky Eggs. The company also announced that they will release a new update that will focus on co-op gameplay which will give players a new way to play the game but will temporarily close down in-game gyms for awhile. Players can also take part in live events that will happen throughout certain countries such as the US with the launch of Pokemon Go Fest Chicago where tickets will go on sale on June 19, the event will launch on the 22 of July 2017. Europe will also have an event between July and September and Japan will get an event called Pikachu Outbreak in Yokohama in August.
It is still not clear as to what the co-op gameplay will be about but rumors are stating that gyms will be getting some sort of update to help prevent cheating and is planning to introduce raids. More information will be released soon on all these events and maybe some during E3 2017.
