Plantronics has just announced the latest edition to their RIG family of products, the RIG 800 series which they claim will come with a 24-hour battery life. This new entry will join the RIG 4VR, which is the company’s first headset developed specially for PlayStation VR.
Both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 variant of the headphone is focused on giving gamers a smooth gaming experience without worrying that their headphone will cutout during an intense gaming session. The enhanced battery has a quick-charging feature that will give 1.5 hours of gaming per 30-minutes charge. The RIG 800 is also focused on comfort, equipped with memory-foam ear cushions giving a more comfortable feel and increase sound isolation for an immersive experience.
The amplified 40mm drivers will bring the soundstage to live and the low-frequency resonations reinforce bass and limit distortion. The Mic monitor lets you hear your outgoing chat while the noise-cancelling mic ensures that your teammates will always hear you, when you are done, just flip the mic up to mute it. Dual control dials on the left earcup help you quickly adjust the balance between game and chat audio, as well as master volume. The EQ settings will give you the options to isolate pure highs, intensify the mid-range, enjoy seismic bass, or enhance vocal focus.
The RIG 600 on the other hand, features high fidelity audio, balancing distortion-free bass with vibrant mids and treble, allowing gamers to hear they games and music with more detail. The RIG 400 will come with two variants for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and features inline volume and mute controls, high-sensitivity drivers, and removable noise-cancelling mics
