PENJANA: Malaysians to receive 1GB FREE INTERNET until end of the year

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has introduced a RM35-billion Short-term Economic Recovery Plan (PENJANA) that serves to revive the country’s economy. 

Free data 

During his speech, he announced that Malaysians will continue to receive free 1GB internet everyday, which can be used between 8am and 6pm. The data is meant to be used for browsing educational websites and using video conferencing apps. 

On top of that, the rakyat will still be unlimited access to government websites and the mySejahtera app.

The government will also work with companies to carry out a “Shop Malaysian Online” campaign that will offer promo codes and discount vouchers across multiple e-commerce platforms to encourage online shopping. A total of RM70 million will be allocated to this campaign. 

RM50 e-wallet credit 

Every Malaysian will receive RM50 in their e-wallets to encourage the rakyat to perform contactless payment either when outside or at home.  

There will be matching discount vouchers and cashback worth RM50 for every physical purchase made.
