Panasonic Malaysia has launched of the LUMIX S9, the latest addition to the LUMIX S Series and the smallest and lightest full-frame mirrorless camera in the lineup. The LUMIX S9 is available in four colors: Jet Black, Crimson Red, Dark Olive, and Dark Silver, making it a stylish choice for content creators on the move.
Equipped with a 24.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor similar to the LUMIX S5II and the latest imaging engine, the LUMIX S9 captures content in rich detail with natural tones. The camera features Phase Detection Auto-Focus (PDAF) for excellent subject tracking and Active I.S. for significant reduction of blurring from camera shake, ensuring confident shooting in any situation.
The LUMIX S9 also introduces the REAL TIME LUT function with a dedicated ‘LUT’ button, allowing creators to enjoy a variety of color styles in-camera. Additionally, the new LUMIX Lab app enables users to develop unique LUT color files on their smartphones, facilitating the creation of original and shareable stills and videos without the need for post-production editing.
The camera debuts a new recording format, MP4 Lite, which supports shooting Open Gate in 4:2:0 10-bit at 30p/25p. This format is optimized for smartphones, making it easy to resize aspect ratios for social media sharing through the LUMIX Lab app. This streamlined editing workflow is ideal for content creators on the go.
Alongside the LUMIX S9, Panasonic has introduced the LUMIX S 26mm F8 (S-R26) lens at RM 1,099. This compact and lightweight full-frame lens offers high resolution and outstanding image quality with a fixed focal length of 26mm and an F-stop of F8. Designed for casual and creative shooting, the pancake lens is perfect for capturing spontaneous moments.
Panasonic will also be releasing the new LUMIX S 18-40mm F4.5-6.3 lens soon. This versatile zoom lens, ideal for daily use, covers focal lengths from an ultra-wide angle of 18mm to a semi-standard 40mm. It has a closest shooting distance of 0.15m/0.49ft, offering flexibility to capture expansive landscapes or portrait shots naturally.
Distributed by Shriyo Marketing, the LUMIX S9 is available for pre-order at RM 7,599 for the DC-S9GA Body alone and RM 8,999 for the DC-S9KGA with an R2060 Lens. Pre-orders from May 30 to June 30, 2024, through retail will offer Jet Black and Dark Olive colors, while Lazada and Shopee pre-orders from June 6 to June 30, 2024, will offer Jet Black and Crimson Red. All pre-orders include a SmallRig L-Shape Handle, a battery pack, and a 64GB SanDisk Extreme Pro SD Card as free gifts.
