OnePlus released the OnePlus 6T two months back, and yesterday they announced that the Android 9 Pie and OxygenOS 9.0.0 is now out for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T.
The new update was announced in the OnePlus’s forum by one of the employees, and was only officially out after feedbacks and improvements from beta testing. With the new Android Pie OTA update, the two models will be getting an updated system which includes a brand new UI, new navigation gestures for the OnePlus 5T, new Android security patch and other new features and system improvements that were not stated in the forum.
Besides that, the update will come with a new Gaming mode 3.0 that offers text notification mode and notification for third party calls for better gaming experience. There will also be an adjustable Do Not Disturb mode so users can customise it to their preferences and not to mention, the OnePlus 5 and One Plus 5T will be getting an integrated Google Lens mode so it’s easier for smartphone owners to access information through the smartphones’ cameras.
According to the OnePlus employee, the OTA update is a stage-by-stage rollout so not all users will get it immediately. If you are a OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 5T user and you’ve received the update, congratulations. But if you’ve yet to get the update, do be patient since it’s rolling out within a few days.
That aside, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users are also anticipating for the new software update, but an official date has yet to be confirmed.
