OPPO Reno 5G is now official and it’s a pricey beast

OPPO have been making headlines lately with their newly launched Reno smartphone – a flagship device that has a shark fin pop-up selfie camera; and OPPO aren’t resting on their laurels in the pursuit of market share as they’ve recently announced a 5G version of the Reno.

This comes about as a response to the 5G-forward market and the phone will be competing with the likes of upcoming 5G-enabled phones such as Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, LG V50 ThinQ, Moto Z3 5G and more.

The launch of the phone also ushers in the OPPO 5G Landing Project, an initiative to boost adaptation of 5G technology worldwide.

We’re now at the very beginning of will definitely be the future of broadband connectivity. The OPPO Reno 5G is a bigger and better specimen of the standard edition – it’s got a 6.6-inch AMOLED display along with a triple-lens setup at the back (48MP + 8MP + 13MP), the standard edition only has two lenses.

The selfie camera rises at an angle to look like a shark fin, and the module houses a 16MP wide-angle lens.

Under the hood is a Snapdragon 855 chipset; the standard version only comes with a Snapdragon 710; along with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. There’s also a bigger 4,065mAh battery.

The OPPO Reno 5G is priced at €899 (RM4,145); but considering European prices adhere by VAT, we reckon when the phone will be a tad bit cheaper when it arrives to local shores.
