OPPO launches the F1 Plus in Malaysia

OPPO has finally brought the successor to the F1 to Malaysia. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the F1 Plus.

In terms of specifications, there are a few changes from the F1 to the F1 Plus. Gone is the Snapdragon 616 as OPPO has decided to go with the MediaTek Helio P10 Octa-core processor. The F1 Plus also comes with 4GB of RAM, an improvement over the F1’s 3GB, and 64GB of storage space which can be expanded to 128GB.

Like the F1 that precedes it, the F1 Plus’ main attraction is the front camera, hence its ‘Selfie Expert’ moniker. The front camera is a 16MP snapper that comes with Hi-Light technology. Couple that with the large f/2.0 aperture and ISOCELL technology and you have a phone that can capture clear, bright and colourful selfies while generating four times less noise than the standard front camera on other smartphones.

The other half of the selfie experience is the software and OPPO did not disappoint in that segment either. OPPO has been hard at work on improving the Beautify feature on its smartphones and the fruits of the labour is Beautify 4.0, which allows users to capture selfies with bright, clear skin, and beautifully defined facial contours. New to the F1 Plus is the Selfie Panorama feature which allows users to take extra-wide 120-degree front-facing photos as the F1 Plus combines three photos seamlessly. All of these is further augmented by the Helio P10’s TrueBright image signal processor engine, which enhances colour resolution and detail.

While the front camera is the main highlight of the F1 Plus, OPPO did not neglect the rear camera as the phone sports a 13MP rear shooter.

Imaging aside, the F1 Plus is also the first OPPO smartphone that sports a front-facing fingerprint sensor. Unlike other fingerprint sensors, OPPO designed its sensor to be able to learn over time, gradually refining its image  of the user’s fingerprint which allows for an efficient and smooth unlock process. Finally, the F1 Plus also comes with OPPO’s signature VOOC fast charge technology, allowing you to fully charge the phone’s 2,850mAh Li-Po battery within an hour.

Interested? The OPPO F1 Plus will have a retail price of RM1,898. While the device will only be available nationwide on the 11th of April, OPPO will begin sales of the F1 Plus at Sunway Pyramid at 6pm today.
