One of the most anticipated phone launches of 2018 has finally happened and it is the Oppo Find X, the company’s first phone that comes with a full body display and a motorized camera that slides out similar to the Vivo Nex.
The phone comes with a stunning design which Oppo is calling a panoramic design with 3D structured light, making the Find X a beautiful piece of technological art. Oppo uses COP flexible screen packing technology in the phone to bring the screen ratio to 93.8% with curved edges. Perhaps the main attraction of the phone is its sliding cameras, where the cameras that are hidden in the body of the phone and will slide out when in photography mode or when unlocking the phone, as it does not have a fingerprint sensor and uses the facial recognition.
Once the mechanism slides out, it will reveal the 25MP front camera and the 16MP+20MP sensors on the rear. The mechanism also hides the other sensors like the Flood Illuminator, Infrared camera, proximity sensor, Dot projector, Receiver and RGB camera. There is also a 3D structure light which will project 15,000 dots to build a complete 3D model of the user’s face. It also has a higher level of security compared to the tradition fingerprint sensor and thanks to the advancement that Oppo made in this field, it is not faster and safer to unlock the phone.
Oppo has also worked on the phones blacklight photography, thanks to the Sensor HDR 2.0, it can now make the subject and background more distinct when taking a selfie. It also has AI Scene Recognition which can identify scenes and objects to optimize the image, making it vibrant and more clear.
The Find X comes equipped with the latest Snapdragon 845 processor, 6.42-inch AMOLED display, 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. Powering the device is a 3,730mAh which supports Oppo’s VOOC which is somewhat on par with OnePlus’s Dash Charge.
The phone will come in two colours of Blue and Red with a nice black gradient-like design for both the colours.
