OPPO is launching the new A Series 2020 in Malaysia, starting with the OPPO A9 2020 and the A5 2020 that have a quad-camera setup and a long-lasting battery.
Both the A9 2020 and the A5 2020 feature a huge 6.5-inch LCD display with a common waterdrop notch that houses its front camera. They are also equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ that is tougher and more resistant towards scratches and with Sunlight Screen, the devices are able to do well under direct sunlight.Â
These devices also have dual stereo speakers paired with Dolby Atmos, offering an immersive and enhanced audio experience. In addition, the A9 2020 and A5 2020 both come with a physical fingerprint sensor on its 3D gradient back which creates multi-tone radiant colours.
Both of them are powered by a Snapdragon 665 chipset paired with ColorOS 6 based on Android 9. With up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB of storage, the A9 2020 and A5 2020 are definitely enough for a casual user. However, those who require more storage can choose to expand it up o 256GB with a MicroSD card.
The highlight of these new phones is, of course, the four cameras on the back. Apart from its 48MP main lens, the OPPO A9 2020 sports an 8MP ultra-wide camera and two 2MP sensors. Meanwhile, its 16MP front camera supports portrait mode and AI beautification. As for the A5 2020, a 12MP lens is used to replace the 48MP lens on the A9 2020. Moreover, the A9 2020 has EIS so users can take moving videos without the result being too shaky.
The A9 2020 and A5 2020 come with a 5,000mAh battery for extensive usage but that’s not all. It charges via USB-C and supports reverse charging, meaning you can charge other phones using an OTG cable to connect them and the new OPPO phones. Sadly, the phone does not have fast charging feature.
The OPPO A9 2020 is available in Space Purple and Marine Green, whereas the OPPO A5 2020 is available in Mirror Black and Dazzling White. The A9 2020 with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at RM1,199 while the A5 2020 with 3GB RAM and 64GB of storage is priced at RM699. The A9 2020 can be purchased at any OPPO Concept Store, OPPO Online Store and more. It will officially be in store on September 28 but you can pre-order it from today until September 27.
