OnePlus to have April 7 launch, not of the OnePlus 3

Many rumors have been surrounding OnePlus and its April event. However, OnePlus has denied that the April 7 event is for the launch of the OnePlus 3. The folks at Android Authority have contacted OnePlus regarding the rumored launch and they confirmed that the event isn’t of the OnePlus 3.

According to a OnePlus spokesman, the event next month will focus on the Chinese market. If you still recall, Carl Pei has mentioned that the OnePlus 3 will be launched some time in the 2nd quarter of the year. There’s still a while to go, but an Antutu benchmark of the rumored next “flagship killer” has already surfaced online.

The OnePlus 3’s internals will consist of a Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device is said to be running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow so we should be expecting that version of Android running on the OnePlus 3 out of the box, with an Oxygen OS 3.0 skinned on top. Further specs from the benchmark tells us that the handset will be sporting a 16MP rear camera and a 8MP selfie shooter. However, it will still be featuring a 1080p display. The OnePlus 2 didn’t create as much hype as the OnePlus One? What do you think will happen with the 3?
