The OnePlus 3 will be added to the list of the handful devices running the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat as OnePlus has started rolling out the software update. This comes after OnePlus made the latest software available to its Open Beta users. With the update also comes a new Oxygen OS 4.1.0.

The software update is incremental so don’t expect major changes to arrive with the update. However, there are a couple of fixes and improvements worth noting. Here is the full changelog anyway:

  • Upgraded Android 7.1.1
  • Updated Google security patch to 1st March 2017
  • Added expanded screenshots
  • Improved picture taking of moving objects with blur reduction
  • Improved video stability when recording
  • Improved WiFi connectivity
  • Improved bluetooth connectivity
  • General bug fixes

OnePlus has carried on efforts on improving the OnePlus 3’s camera software, enhancing the camera’s abilities to capture moving objects with less blur. Also, video stabilization should also see some form of improvement as that has been one of the biggest uglies in the 2016 budget flagship. Apart from that are the quashing of general bugs in the software like you’ll see in any other Android software update.

OnePlus claims that a small percentage of users will be receiving the OTA update today before a broader rollout over the course of the next few days. However, if you happen to be impatient, download the handy Opera VPN app and set your region to Canada. Upon that you should be receiving a notification to download the software update which is 300+MB in size.
