OnePlus halts Open Beta program due to CNY celebrations

After making a New Year’s resolution to speed up its smartphone shipments, Chinese startup manufacturer OnePlus has decide to take some time off its beta releases for the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. The company has been testing Nougat software for some time before releasing a public OTA update for non-beta users of the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. OnePlus is still running its Open Beta program till this date.

In a post on OnePlus Forums, the company announced that it will stop Nougat beta updates this month for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. This short break is in conjunction with the festive season of Chinese New Year. OnePlus has also stated that it will be picking up where it left off after this break, to continue pushing more updates and develop new features and improvements for its beta software.

2016 was certainly a busy year for OnePlus, having launched two flagships – the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. The company also made the decision to merge and consolidate its China exclusive Hydrogen OS and the global Oxygen OS to speed up its work on software updates. Since OnePlus is taking a break from work, will you be taking some time off too?
