OnePlus 8T launched: Comes with 120Hz display and 65W Warp Charge

The OnePlus 8T has been launched and it offers a more streamlined take on the 2020 flagship series. Priced from 599 Euro (RM2,925), the phone offers an impressive value proposition more akin to the OnePlus we know and love.

The display here is a 6.5-inch OLED display that pushes a whopping 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. As per any 2020 flagship, the phone also supports 10-bit HDR10+ support.

Moving to the back, there are two finishes that depend on which colour you pick – Lunar Silver has a frosted matte finish, while the Aquamarine Green boasts a more conventional glossy feel.

For imaging, there’s a 48MP quad-camera setup which consists of an 16MP ultrawide lens, a macro shooter, and a monochrome lens. New features include nightscape videography which lets you get brighter videos in low-light scenarios.

Under the hood is the trusty Snapdragon 865 chipset, so the phone supports 5G; and there’s up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Powering the device is a 4,500mAh battery with support for the all-new 65W Warp Charge fast-charging tech. OnePlus claims that you can get about 65% of battery after just 25 minutes of charging. The best part is that the 65W Warp Charge adapter comes in the box.

When it comes to features, the phone ships with OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 out of the box. There’s a dual front-facing stereo speaker system which has Dolby Atmos support for more immersive audio. OnePlus also says that there’s a larger vapor chamber cooling system now – about 285% larger than before to be exact.

In Europe, pre-orders start today while open sales start this October 20; in North America, open sales start October 23. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the local availability when more information comes.
